starrise feels like a personal milestone, a collection born from the thrilling, yet strangely familiar, dawn of something entirely new. It explores the beautiful tension between settling for what is and daring to become the stars themselves, showcasing how a touch of chaos can illuminate the path.
the stars are rising
This collection, starrise, holds a special place in my heart; it's my tenth poem collection and was one of my favorites to create. For me, starrise truly marks the dawn of something new. It's an emotion I'm familiar with, yet every time it touches me, it feels strange again, so strange I don't even have a name for it. This 13-poem collection explores existence kissing wildly opposite fates and the notion that while a string can be good untouched, a little chaos makes life more fun.
There's a constant push and pull throughout the poems. It's like one force is whispering, "settle down, because stars aren't really for you to reach," while another, louder voice insists, "no, go get those stars, be one of them." It’s about that tension, that delicate dance between staying grounded and leaping into the unknown.
As you journey through it, you'll find pieces like "enough to dream," "stellar eyes," and "sucked by the stars." There's also "blue," "the golden disparity," and "moment of shared existence." Each poem is a facet of that strange, beautiful new feeling, capturing the quiet moments and the big questions that arise when you’re on the cusp of something entirely different.
